
Deputy John Deasy asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources his plans to help develop the wave energy sector in view of the fact that Ireland's ocean generated power potential is estimated to be enough to supply as much as three quarters of our energy requirements; the benefit that accrued from the €22 million set aside in 2009 for ocean energy development; and if he intends to offer State incentives to encourage private investment in this sector.
